Direction for the Future Army
The future Army will achieve information by developing integrated information systems that provide near-real time distribution and sharing of information and knowledge to all personnel in both peacetime and wartime.
IEstablish information and communication infrastructure for「Network-Based Simultaneous and Integrated Operations」
The infrastructure for the 「Network-Based Simultaneous and Integrated Operations」will be established through the development of advanced fixed/mobile/satellite communication network systems and through the integration of voice and data to support high-speed and large-capacity communications for the soldiers. This highly sophisticated information system requires adequate countermeasures to deal with possible cyber attacks.
Develop integrated battlefiled information management system that will enable us to "See first, decide first and strike first."
Linkage between surveillance and strike system ensures 「Network-based Simultaneous and Integrated Operations」by enabling all personnel and echelon to share the battlefield situation and to visualize the battlefield.
Provide timely resource information through integrating resource information management systems.
In order to provide timely distribution of information in both peacetime and wartime and improve resource management efficiency, the resource information management system will be improved continuously using advanced information technology. Integration of sub management systems into a single system and connecting the system to the battlefield information management system will enhance the visualization of the resource status.
Reinforce informationization through establishing advanced information infrastructure.
Information interoperability must be considered when developing a new information/weapon system. Developing organization and educating Army personnel in the latest information technology through cooperation with other organizations will enhance the future Army's information capability.
